All-New MidOpt Website Launched
With much fanfare and celebration (we splurged on chocolate milk), we proudly roll out the all-new Midwest Optical Systems' website. Designed from the ground up to provide you with more complete information and better access to details, we hope it will make your decisions easier for specifying machine vision filters, lenses and accessories. Of course, we also hope the new site leads to more sales – that would be nice – but we do have some awesome products that just did not present well in the previous site's format.
The new site will be continually updated and new pages added as they are developed, so check in from time to time. For our dealers and distributors, we have more things in the works to help you inform and educate your clients. Our product lines are constantly growing as technology advances and the website will reflect new additions as they are made available.
Feel free to call, write or send a carrier pigeon with your comments, any errors in the site or, especially, if you have a business need that we can address. Our business is about working with you and paying close attention to your needs.

Rotating Right Angle Prism
Whether you want to look around a corner or have a unique machine vision system installation that's giving you fits, the all-new Rotating Right Angle Prism from MidOpt may be the solution.
Continuing the innovative product development that MidOpt has become known for since 1988, this adapter screws onto existing lens filter threads, permits viewing at 90º to the optical axis of a lens and camera, and allows stock MidOpt filters to be used. Attaching to smaller lenses can be accommodated through the use of step-up rings. A thumbscrew locks the prism into position, preventing vibration-caused rotation.

MidOpt releases all new Resource Book
Just in time for The Vision Show in Phoenix (April 2009), Midwest Optical Systems has released an all-new 28-page Resource Book featuring information and details on their full line of machine vision filters, and a complete listing of the Goyo Optics lenses for which they are the exclusive US distributor. The Goyo line adds to their already extensive offering of lenses from the major world manufacturers. The filter section explains types of filters, a comparison between photographic and machine vision filters, and presents sample results to help specifying engineers and integrators understand more about the use of filters to create and enhance contrast.

A New Name and Logo Design for Midwest Optical Systems
"MidOpt" is the new unofficial name for Midwest Optical, chosen to reflect our web domain name and help make it more memorable. The new logo design was created by our award-winning designer, Peter Birren, to visually establish optical filters as the main core of our business, to draw attention to our focus on details and be a neo-classical update combining traditional elements of the name with a modernized look. The colorful new logo and filter wheel will appear on all company communications, catalog, filter kits, website, product labeling and trade show booth.
