License Plate Recognition
Filters, Lenses, Accessories

Traffic monitoring cameras are quite remarkable when compared with film or the human eye. Not only can they detect light that is outside our range of perception, they also have greater sensitivity in low light conditions. This combination has lead to infrared being the most common and practical wavelength range for use in LPR (or ANPR: Automated Number Plate Reconition) systems.

FILTERS
In order to optimize these systems for operation in the IR, visible-block/IR-pass optical filters must be employed. Our filters are specifically designed to make full use of a digital camera's capabilities by effectively enhancing or eliminating portions of the UV, visible and near-IR.IR filters

Optical filtering has proven to be the most efficient and least costly way to improve image quality in these often extreme light conditions.

FILTERS FOR COMMON IR LIGHTING
Filters are available to enhance commonly used IR illumination, including 740, 850, 880 and 920nm. Filter for 810nm coming soon.

Some benefits of MidOpt IR Filters include:
• Helping control the variability caused by common ambient lighting conditions
• Increases contrast and resolution for overall image quality
• Improves the system's optical accuracy and recognition of the desired scene
• Dense/hard coatings for greater longevity and environmental stability

LENSES
The innovative InfinityLens puts much more of the picture in focus than is possible with conventional standard or megapixel lenses. You can now obtain images that have foreground, mid-range and background areas in focus while in a wide range of light conditions, and maintain that extended deep focus as the lighting changes. A single InfinityLens has the ability to provide extreme focus surveillance over a wider area and distance.

We also offer lenses from: Goyo Optical, Fujinon, Kowa, Tamrom, Pentax and others.

lens manufacturers represented by MidOpt: goyo, fujinon, infinity, kowa, tamron and pentax to name a few

ACCESSORIES
From our unique Heater Window that eliminates frost and fogging, and protects the internal components, to our Slip-on Mounts, Step Rings and Custom Optics, we can help outfit your installations with both style and functionality.

System Elementscamera heater window

NEW
Heater Window
Protects outdoor traffic monitoring cameras. The Heater Window is a pane of glass with a transparent semiconductor coating through which a current is passed, creating heat energy. The heat not only prevents condensation from forming on the window but helps protect the electronics inside the enclosure, too.

Slip Mountsslip mount
If your lens does not have threads for mounting a filter, Slip Mount adapters are available. Slip Mounts can attach a regular filter to a lens or attach a very large filter to accommodate a wide angle lens. Please call to order these adapters.

Step Rings
Now you can adapt large filters to your regular or wide angle lenses and nearly eliminate vignetting while getting all the benefits from the filter. Read more.
